Ingenuity® Systems is committed to accelerating research in the life sciences by announcing our first Grant Program for ‘omics studies.
Applicants may submit proposals to receive either a limited IPA® license, free sample(s) analysis using Ingenuity Variant Analysis™ or both.
Ingenuity Systems is awarding six grants. The deadline for grant submission has been extended to March 11, 2013, 11:59PM PST.
Eligible Entrants:
- Variant Analysis Grant - To enter for a chance to win sample(s) analysis using Variant Analysis, you must submit a proposal which focuses on interpreting comprehensively sequenced human genomes, to unravel disease(s) or other important phenotype(s) and describe how you would utilize Ingenuity Variant Analysis
- Ingenuity IPA Software Grant - To enter for a chance to win a limited license for IPA, you must submit a proposal which focuses on identifying and validating upstream regulators (transcription factors, microRNA or other) and/or use of mechanistic networks and describe how you would utilize IPA
- Dual Grant - To enter for a chance to win both Variant Analysis sample(s) analysis and a limited license for IPA, you must submit a proposal which focuses on an application or data set that leverages both Variant Analysis and IPA.
Timeline:
- Opening date: February 4, 2013
- Application due date: March 4, 2013, 11:59PM PST EXTENDED TO MARCH 11, 2013, 11:59PM PST
- Review dates: March 11 – April 5, 2013
- Award date*: April 6 – 10, 2013 (at the AACR Annual Conference in Washington, DC)
*All entrants will be contacted prior to public announcement of the winners indicated status.
Guidelines for Grant Proposals:
All proposals must conform to the following guidelines to be eligible for consideration:- Proposals must involve the expansion of current genomic, transciptomic or epigenomic studies
- Proposals must be written in English and contain a maximum of 10,000 characters (approximately 2,000 words)
- Proposals must be received by Ingenuity Systems by March 11, 2013, 11:59PM PST
- Proposals must include a one to two sentence summary of the research goals
- Proposals must include a 1,000 character abstract (approximately 200 word abstract - not included as part of the 10,000 character limit)
- Proposals must include a statement of the underlying project goals and project description of the samples
- Proposals must include a statement of the availability and/or timeline to receive appropriate DNA, cDNA or RNA samples in supported data formats (to upload directly into IPA or Variant Analysis). Samples must be in the researcher’s possession or have ready access to such samples from collaborators or sample repositories
- Proposals may include up to three figures and/or tables
- Proposals may also include appropriate references (not included as part of the 10,000 character limit)
Refer a Colleague:
- All entrants are invited to refer a colleague to submit a proposal to the Grant Program
- If you refer a colleague and their proposal is selected for an award, you will receive a $50 USD Gift Card to Amazon
- In order to qualify, you must be referred to in your colleague's application under the "How did you hear about the program?" section
Selection Criteria:
Proposals will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Overall Scientific Relevance
- Tractability – Ability to Yield Results
- Originality of the Proposal
- Need for Ingenuity Products
